The SDB-1RS is a compact robotic benchtop powder dispenser designed for automated dosing into well plates and HPLC sample plates. Based on the proven SDB-1 powder dispensing technology with a small dosing head, the SDB-1RS enables precise, repeatable powder dispensing into 24-, 48-, and 96-well plates.

The system is operated via an integrated touchscreen controller, which synchronises powder dispensing with the XY positioning table. A controlled Z-axis well-dipping motion ensures accurate delivery into each well while preventing powder spillage.

The SDB-1RS supports multiple well-plate formats and flexible dosing patterns, including skipped wells and irregular layouts. Configuration profiles can be saved and password-protected, enabling fast changeover between different plate types while maintaining process integrity.

By automating repetitive powder dosing tasks, the SDB-1RS increases laboratory throughput, improves dosing consistency, and enables true “walk-away” operation. One operator can supervise multiple robotic dosers in parallel, significantly improving productivity and process quality.

Workflow

  • Well plates or HPLC sample plates are placed on the XY table support of the robotic doser
  • The dispensing sequence is started via the touchscreen controller
  • The process can be paused, resumed, or stopped at any time
  • Plate configurations are stored as profiles (up to 10 saved configurations)
  • Instant switching between different plate formats without mechanical changes
